daughter obsest with boobs?

Hi everyone I am new here and am looking forward to getting some good advise! I am 25 years old and have an almost 6 year old daughter. I don't have any friends with kids so I can definately use every peice of advise I can get!


I breast fed my daughter for 2 years, which was way longer then expected... I had to actually see a doctor to help get her off of it. However she is still obstst with boobs! She just wants to touch them.. ALL THE TIME! I know it sounds silly, but seriously. She says they are soft and she just wants to hold them. Obviously I tell her to stop every time she tries, but if just freaks me out.


I am sure nobody else has this problem, I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to why she does this... what does it mean??

I'm sure that to her they represent a comfort item.

I think kids that are breastfed are always more likely to be more curious about boobs.

Thanks so much for your opinion! I feel a ton better, I am sure you are right it is probably a lot of an attachment/security reason. Her dad and I are now divorced so that might make things a little harder on her. I am new to the board and love getting advise from other moms! Thanks again!

I would definitely agree, she sees them as comfort. neither of my two were breast fed (my milk never came in ... which was fine by me) and I still dress and undress in front of my 7 year old boy. He has never stared, tried to touch, or made comments about them.
