I.S.O. good Christmas gifts for 7yr.boy

I'm looking for some good ideas for gift ideas for my 7 year old boy. It seems to be getting harder each year! I have tons of stuff for my 4 year old girl and I need to balance it out. I know it's early, but I hate to wait too long.

He likes instruments (plays violin and has 'The Music Maker' and a nice xylophone already.) He likes computer games and has a few of them (some additional good recommendations would be appreciated!) We don't want to go the PlayStation route yet or get him a TV of his own yet either. I was thinking of one of those little ATV type vehicle/things for him to ride around on in the yard, but my hubby isn't thrilled about storing that. UGH!

Any ideas are appreciated!

My son likes -

Harry Potter
Narnia - The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe
Legos - really anything to build with

What about board games? Books?

What a coincidence - I just got back from Christmas shopping! :)

I got my son a delux K'nex set, the Star Wars Millenium ship and some action figures, a Sponge Bob Game Boy game (I know...), a Batman Leap Pad game and the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

For stocking stuffers, I will probably get him some books. He has just started reading chapter books, so we want to encourage that!

We did some shopping this weekend. Our almost 7 year old is getting a skate board (he has been asking for years and only now seems coordinated enough to not seriously injure himself!), some Star Wars Lego sets (he loves loves these and would only want these for Chirstmas and his birthday--end of November-- if he had his way), A science set that will allow him to grow Crystals, some games for his Game Boy, books (some chapter some easier--he is kind of in between right now), some actions figures (Star Wars). I know there are a few other smaller things but that is all that is coming to mind right now. These are for his birthday has well as Christmas.

Hope this helps!

My son loves to construct things so I go through a catalog called Museum Minds. It's GREAT! All kinds of stuff is in there that boys and girls would enjoy at this age. =)

My son is a big Electronics kid so his big gift(Shared with his sister) is an XBOX, so they each are getting a few games.

My DS(6 yrs) is getting a snake tongs(a real one for catcing real snakes) I know it is outrageous, but DH got it and DS is into everything snakes. I am getting him some really cool snake toys from online store, that look just like the real things. He will also be getting a boxing bag for the basement(where we have play area for kids). Some small toys will be, a dirt bike toy from Walmart, and a light saber and some star wars puzzles...Probably some more snake books if there are any he doesn't have already...
Best of luck,

My almost 8yr old for Hanukkah is getting Legos, a wall calender, books, remote controlled car and a Scene It DVD Disney game. Now that I'm printing this out it doesn't sound like much, but I know I have 8 gifts for him hidden in the closet. I guess I better go check and see if I'm missing anything. His birthday is right after and for that we are getting him the first trilogy of Star Wars and a portable DVD player. Hope those ideas help and we also have a boycott on play stations and TVs in the bedroom in our house too.
