One of my dd's friends (age 6) is taught by her older sister to dance like Britney Spears because she thinks that it is funny. Another one of her friends from camp last summer also likes to bump and grind when she dances. Is it normal to teach a little girl to dance like that? What is your opinion on this?

I don't think that kind of dancing is appropriate at all.

I do not allow it. I also do not allow her to listen to or sing certain songs. (The song that comes to mind is the Pu$$y Cat dolls, "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me.." Blech! The thought of my 6 y/o DD singing that makes my stomach turn. I know that she will hear it while at a friends house, or hear her friends simg it. I have told her that I understand that that is OK at their house, but not at mine.

I don't like it at all, I think kids these days are forced to lose their innocence way too early.

No way!! is that appropriate for a 6 year old. My daughter is 7 and I would have a fit if anyone taught her that. There is a difference between 22 and 6...a club and pre K. You know?

I have friends, they've been married since I was maybe 11 or 12, but they just had their first baby in Aug. And another friend had her 3 son which she says that their two children will marry, but the one with the little girls always says, "No, she's marrying the books."

I think that there are more positive and constructive things for our little girls to be doing. My daughter doesn't look at videos unless they are Christian artists.
