My son is good about getting up in the mornings and eating breakfast. However, once it is time to brush teeth and get dressed, he becomes a crazed 6-year-old. He whines and complains, tries every stalling tactic he can think of, and often breaks down and cries. These actions lead to fights between us, and I don't like for either of us to start our days on such negative notes. I am not sure what to do. Of course I am trying to get us both out the door so I can take him to school and then get to work, but usually we end up leaving late because of these morning tantrums. I have tried all kinds of things -- no TV until he has eaten and gotten dressed. Brush teeth first thing after waking up. Getting him up earlier. It never seems to help. Does anyone have any advice?
