Hi, I have 3 boys(6,4 and 8 months) I have been having difficulty dealing with my 6yr old lately. He has been so defiant lately and I am at a lose as to what to do with him. When I tell him to do something he will say no and I will have to tell him several times or take something away before he will listen. Bedtime has become such a hassle. He use to be so great at going to sleep but now I hear every excuse from I'm thirsty or hungry to my nose is stuffy. I find I am always taking away priveleges or threatening to if he doesn't listen but his behaviour does not improve. He is great at school, well behaved, well mannered, he gets lots of time outside to burn off energy, I do a lot with him and his brothers. I don't know how to deal with his behaviour. I definately know I need to "fix" these problems now before they get out of control. Any advice would be super.
Thank you

Hi there! I have found threats weren't working for my son because they werew just that, THREATS. *wink* What I started doing is telling him one time and if he didn't there was a consequence right then and there. FOr example, if we were going to get ice cream and he didn't pick up the first time I said to I would say, "You are showing me you are not ready for special treats.
