New here, question about RSVP-ing

Hello... my daughter just turned 7 on Friday, and her birthday party will be next Sunday. This year she wanted to invite her whole class and so we did.. I sent invitations out but I haven't had one response (from the class). I put on the ivnvite to please RSVP by Oct. 2 (tomorrow), so I know I have one more day and people do reply late, but I would think I would have heard by one person at least by now. I have an older son so I know when inviting school friends not to expect many replies. Good thing her cousins and other friends outside of school are coming. I was just wondering what others have experienced when inviting the class. I know some people don't do it, and I didn't think I would, but she has a lot of friends in there even though it's early in the year. I expected out of 16 kids that maybe 5 would come but I'm wondering if we'll even get that. Anyhow, we'll still have the party, I'm just wondering if I shouldn't have agreed to invite class friends so she won't be disappointed. It's so early in the year I don't know the other parents yet and a roster hasn't been put together.

Thanks!

That is what I am wondering! I was thinking I should have changed "RSVP" to "Please call and let us know if you'll be able to attend." I think I'll do that in the future! I am also afraid my daughter's feelings will be hurt. How did your son take it? Most of the kids who are coming are from her class last year (kindergarten) so at least she will have school friends if not class friends. Today was my RSVP deadline but the party is this coming weekend, so we'll see if there are any late RSVP-ers. Thanks for your response!

He was ok actually - I invited a lot of the kids in the neighborhood and luckily most came - we had about 5 kids total.
