Safe Playgrounds Aren't So Good?

I have to say that I agree with the article.

I'm torn on the topic. I love love love the new playground by us that has a soft playground pad to play on (made from recycled tires I think?). However, I found myself a bit sad when they took the merry go round out of the older park that we like to go to. Like your boys, mine would gravitate to that before anything on the playground. I have such fond memories of playing on them as a kid too and I don't remember getting hurt? I'm sure kids do get hurt, but you really can't let them live in a bubble. I think it is good for them to run, jump, explore and figure things out for themselves. Kinda sad!
