We had to drive to the airport to pick up my in-laws.

That made me giggle because we actually keep a spare pair in the van because it's happened more than once.

I've had this happen before. I've left the house without shoes on. Mostly my 3yo leaves without shoes on even though she wears crocs and they take all of 4 seconds to put on.

You got a great deal on those Sketchers though! $44 for two pairs is awesome.

I haven't had that happen to us, but your story reminded me of this:

I was in my teens and staying overnight with a friend. Her mom kept yelling at us to get ready because we had to leave for church. We all pile in the car and drive about 25 minutes to her church. We're almost there when her mom looks down at her own feet and realizes that she's wearing her fancy fluffy pink house slippers. We all about died laughing so hard. Her mom and dad dropped us off at the church and we went to Sunday school while her mom went back home to put her shoes on.

One time we couldn't find my daughter's shoes. We were at Grandmas house and earlier my daughter complained that the neighbor boy had thrown his shoes at her. I guess she ended up doing the same back to him. After a while of looking we found one of her shoes in the middle of the street and the other in the yard next to the house.
