Teaching almost 7yo to ride a 2-wheeler

My dd is almost 7 and her two neighborhood friends recently learned to ride without their training wheels.
I have discovered that children who have scooters learn to ride a bike MUCH quicker!

You can have your dd push herself along the sidewalk on the 2-wheeler using her feet. As she gets a sense of balance, she can coast for short periods of time. From there she can begin trying to pedal.

THE BEST TRICK EVER!!!
I just taught my 7 yo how to ride in the park... On a grassy decline. In her words, "if I fall, grass doesn't hurt."
Find a grassy area with a slight decline, just enough that the bike rolls, but not too fast. It should lead into a flat area. Have them just focus on balancing at first. They may start to peddle on their own, like my daughter did.
I held on the first time, pretended the second time, didn't bother to pretend the third time, and by the fourth time, I told her that I wasn't holding on the last two times. She was biking on her own within 15 minutes, no joke!
::::hitting forhead::: Duh...it just clicked when I read your post..hahaha...I think we will head to the school yard...AS SOON AS THIS DARN RAIN STOPS !!! lol
