Thinking Xmas already.....
7

Hi All,
I'm new here. I have a 7 yr old stepson and a four yr old DD. I'm already thinking about Xmas and am looking for some ideas for our 7 yr old. He's really into star wars, so I was thinking of that, but I'd also like to get him some useful stuff that he will play with and enjoy over time, rather than lose interest in which is likely what will happen to some of the star wars stuff!

Any suggestions?

Tks,

I was going to suggest the same thing, Star Wars Legos.

These are great ideas, but I'm not sure they'll work for us. We've already got TONS of legos, that do get played with a lot. As for the video games, we are reluctant to go down that route since he has all that at his Mom's and it seems to be used a lot. We really don't want his (limited) time here filled up with video games and we don't want to expose DD (age 4) to them just yet- she wants to do whatever her big brother does!

As for the globe, we have one. My Mom got him one for his bday and it's not a big hit with him. Four yr old DD likes it better than he does. Maybe it's not big with boys or just our particular boy. FWIW, my mom got this one second hand so it might be worth looking into that.

I'm going to look into some family board games that he might like, Twister, etc. But I'm still looking for that one gift that he'll really like.

Tks,

Thanks! Those magna tiles are cool, I think he'd like them a lot. I think he'd like the thinkfun games too, I didn't realize that's what they are called. I'm going to start shopping for those second-hand so I can try to get them at a good price. (My Mom got the kids Jenga from a garage sale and it's a big hit!)
