My 7yo is into scouts and soccer right now. This is his first year of scouts and he is really liking it so far. Soccer will start in a few weeks and I think it is a good sport for him. He has a ton of energy and needs an active sport. I need to get him signed up for some swim lessons soon too.
That's a good incentive! I've read the first couple of them with my oldest, but they just haven't been that popular here. She must be a great reader to be that into chapter books. Sean is just starting out with them, he is still trying to find ones that interest him.
Right now she is into the Junie B. books. We use them as a reward system because she has behavioral issues in school. So, if she has a good week, she is able to pick out a brand new Junie B. book. They are really cute stories. :)
Swimming is a great activity, Sean has done a few years of lessons before he started school. Not only is it fun, I think it's a skill every kid should have.
We tried ballet/dance with Reagan and it was too slow for her. She's really not into sports much and hasn't shown any interest in karate or programs like that. She mostly just reads or plays outside with the neighbors. She did swimming last year and I'm considering getting her back into that as she did really love it.
We like to keep Sean busy with sports, he really loves being part of a team and being active. He played outdoor soccer in the fall, indoor soccer after that, basketball in winter and baseball starts in a few weeks. He is also doing cub scouts with his older brothers, and religion classes through the school year. The schedule gets a bit tiring at times, but it really keeps him out of trouble at home!
Wow, after reading that it seems like a lot, but it really isn't. If he keeps up with sports though, I doubt that scouts will last.
Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.~ Dr Seuss
What types of books does she like to read?
