My seven year old daughter and my 9 year old son had a 9 year old friend over a few days ago.

Theresa,

I'm sure this was very scary for you. The only thing I can say is that your friend is on defense mode with the "Not my child". We all wish that our kids were perfect, but unfortunately, they aren't. What I would suggest, is that you talk to your kids and ask them how they felt when the little girl showed them that song and if they didn't feel very comfortable, then you just need to keep that friend at a distance. As for your friend- give her time. We all want to defend our kids. Hopefully nothing more comes out of this especially for her little girl.

I agree with what you did. I would also want to know if my DD did such a thing. I would just talk to your kids about inappropriate behavior, and explain that this is not something that they should be doing. If they ask what to do should this child do that again (which I know my DD would ask me that) I would tell them to say "We are not allowed to play that way." It sounds like they may have realized that it wasn't quite right, which is why you were told, so you are on the right track.
As for your friend, I think that you did all you can. She is aware, & will hopefully talk to her DD about it.
