I wish I had some better advice for you other than what you are doing, just emphasizing how icky that habit is and try to keep an eye on it.

Have you tried getting her thickr undrware like those used for potty training. Maybe the softness of the paper is what she likes. I agree with pp keep up what you are already doing HTH
