Well, my Aubrey turned 7 in march and STILL hasn't lost ANY!! Her bottom middle two are finally loose but she doesn't like to wiggle them because it hurts. LOL
She went to the dentist in April I think it was and saw on the x-rays that her big teeth were close to coming in on the middle front four but the others were still pretty far back.. I kind of think it would be funny if she ended up loosing all 4 at once.. she doesn't htink it would be so fun. ;o)
The "average" for this one is an amazingly wide range. It's 4 to 8 year old! My 6.5 year old just lost her first one a month ago. I think she was the last kid in her Kindy to lose one. She got over the pain part when she fifured out there was money attached. She's lost 3 in the past 2 weeks!!! Cheryl, Olivia's(10-11-00) mom
My girls are about to turn 7 and they just started losing them. Granted both of them had to have the bottom two pulled cause the adult ones were coming in behind them but, one has lost two front teeth and the other has lost one front tooth. So we are at 3 and 4 teeth lost at almost 7 yrs old. They got baby teeth late, they were almost 10 months when they got the baby teeth in.
Oh Gosh, anytime really. Some kids start at 5. I've even known a couple that started at 4. My own kids are on the late side. DD was close to 8 before losing her first tooth. DS is 6.5 and not a wiggler to be found. The dentist says it's good to hold on to those baby teeth a bit longer... they have a chance to be better brushers before those permanent teeth come in.
My dd lost her first tooth the end of her kindergarten year so she would have been 5, almost 6. She lost two when she was 5 and the other six she all lost in First grade when she was 6. She also had shark teeth for the first two where the big tooth comes in behind the baby ones, the dentist did not feel a need to pull them though as he said this is common and the new tooth will move into place once the baby tooth falls out. He was right and they are perfectly straight now too. My dd was NOT a wiggler of teeth so usually the when the baby tooth fell out you could already see the big tooth right there, she didn't have gaps for very long. She was very happy when the last tooth finally fell out too, she wasn't a fan of loosing teeth. I think the next ones don't fall out until around 9 or 10 yrs of age, the canines.
You know, everyone is different. My friends' kids started losing teeth months ago and they have lost 4-5 apiece. My daughter will be 6 on the 27th and has me check for loose teeth every day. So far....none. It will happen!
Hi! Like other posters have mentioned, it can happen at any age, really. Some of it depends on when they got their first teeth; the earlier for that, sometiems the earlier they loose them. =)
Count your stars if they wait to loose teeth. My dentist said that the later they loose their teeth, the better. Their mouth will be wider and less chance of having to have braces to correct problems later on.
My ds lost 7 teeth by 1st grade. He got a RPE spacer installed with braces on his Spring break in 1st grade. We are now getting ready to enter 4th grade and still have the braces. All because he didn't have enough room in his mouth at the age of 6 to accommodate all the adult teeth trying to come in.

They're all different.
Our DD lost her first in June 2005 (age 4 1/2); she's lost a total of 8 since then.
She'll be 7 on 12/20/07.
