Derek and Elena went to sleep pretty quickly, but not before Elena threw a temper tantrum (hello? she is five years old!). She threw another temper tantrum this morning to which I thoughtfully observed out loud, "Hmmm... I think all the sugar is making you crabby. I guess I better put that candy away for a few days..." (Oh I can be so evil....)

But she stopped screaming right away and said very seriously, "I'm okay now, Mom. Will you please leave my candy out?" Okey dokey artichokey! :D

They actually haven't eaten all that much either! Amazing how it affects them!

My kids both ended up with WAY too much candy!! We decided to make a few math exercises out of it (sorted, added, subtracted, etc.) and they had about 250 pieces each. They ate 4 - 5 pieces each and I took custody of the rest. From here on out, they get 1 piece/day. At this rate, we'll have candy 'til school's out!!!!! My ds tried to con me inyo letting him keep the candy in his room. Hah!! Last time I fell for that, there were candy wrappers stashed in corners of his room for months. Not happening again. His latest scheme is to keep the 1 piece I give him every day until he has all of it in his room. Once again, not happening. If it doesn't get eaten, it's going back in the bag.
