Ds played football this year, his freshman year. We got an e -mail from the sophomore coach that all players are expected in the weight room at 6:20 am Monday's through Thursdays!! Yikes. He said it was kind of fun. You can't skip it even if you are in another sport. I think he will be really tired come lacrosse season. I am glad we live close and I don't have to take him.

Wow, that does seem a little tough.  You'd think if they are in another sport, they are getting enough off season training to worry about football later.  I wonder if that discourages anyone from playing football, or not joining other teams because of the schedule.  Good luck to him!!

I was surprised a few weeks ago over Christmas when Jordyn went out running.  She's done it occassionally in the past.  They do a decent amount of cardio and stregnth training for competitive cheer, but not HS cheer.  But this time it was raining some.  I asked her and she said "well, its going to be rainy in Oregon and I am going to be doing a lot more running next year than I am now, so I figured I'd better get used to it."  Very nice to see her take the initiative already!

It is pitch black outside when he goes in!! There is an official start date in August. There are no drills, etc... this is just weight lifting.
