Well, I will start off by saying it was fun. Had a great time with my girls.
I picked them up just after Katie got done with a test in one of her classes. She tweeted me to let me know she was done. So we headed straight out of town after I picked them up. The trip to Nashville wasn't too bad. Didn't seem to take as long as normal. We got into Nashville a bit after 4pm and skipped dinner. We were too excited and Natalie was about to hyperventilate knowing she was in the same city as JB. She never would have been able to sit still to eat. We went straight to downtown which was a good idea to get an early start cause traffic was already bad, stop and go till we go almost to our exit into the downtown area. We got a good parking space right behind Bridgestone Arena and saw one of JB's tour buses in a lot behind ours. Nat was having a cow! Took pictures of it. We walked around the place a few times looking for his people and saw no one. They had the front sidewalk area fenced off and were using that where they had security checks of everyone who went in, you know looking in purses and bags. So we heard a radio station was inside about to give away another set of tickets so we got in and filled out about 20 of the entries. While waiting a DJ walked up to us and we got to talking how we had come from Madison, AL without tickets hoping to get some somehow. She was awestruck. LOL She told us to make sure we filled our forms, told her we did. She then secretly off to the side told me where JB was staying so that maybe if we didn't get in we could at least meet him possibly. AWESOME! They finally had the ticket drawing and we didn't win. By this time we had to use the restroom in the worst way so we went inside where the ticket windows were (will call) and they had restrooms in there. We came out and the girls wanted me to ask IF they had any tickets left over. I told them it was a sold out concert. No way. But if they wanted to and wanted it that bad they needed to ask. They hee-hawed about it for about 5 minutes begging me to ask. Finally Natalie stepped up and asked. Did the lady laugh and so say no? Nope, she asked how many! How many!!!!! Cant you believe that? I was stunned, so were the girls. LOL She looked up three and found three together. The price was high but not as high as they had been. It was doable. But, I had to ask her to look for some cheaper. None. So, I ended up buying those three tickets and you will never believe where they were. Not on the floor but 5 rows from the floor directly in front of the stage. I mean, they best seats I could have ever asked for. Our mouths dropped open when we actually saw where we would be sitting. There were actually a lot of empty seats around us. It was right behind the sound control booth but none of that was in our way. We saw a up and coming country singer there and JB's body guard was there as well. He's almost as huge as JB is. LOL To these kids anyway. I forgot to mention that when I told they lady we'd take the tickets both girls started crying. It was so cute, I cried with them. We had a moment. LOL
The girls had a blast at the concert, I got tired towards the end and enjoyed myself in my seat along with some of the music. I am just not a JB fan so I didn't get into it. LOL Natalie screamed her head off and was hoarse afterwards. We made our way to JB's hotel and waited a little bit but Katie's knee was hurting her and she wanted to go. So finally we left after I tried to get them to come sit on a bench with me to wait. Wrong thing to do. After we had walked down the street and turned the corner I looked back and his HUGE SUV with a police car had just dropped him off and they were turning the corner away from us, or opposite from us. We had just missed him. OH MY GOSH!! I could not beleive it. Natalie blames Katie, in a joking way. She just looks at it as it was not meant to be. Both would have started to cry the minute they saw him, he would have been nice and hugged them up and I had no camera. The girls ipods had died during the concert and we forgot to grab our sharpie as we walked by the car on our way to his hotel. So, no proof. So it was all for the better. Someday maybe. LOL So, they have spent the weekend in a post concernt funk, disappointed it was all over. Wishing it were Friday all over again. But, we have some really great memories and had a really great time. We were going to stay the night in Nashville but out of disappointment that it was all over neither was in the mood to stay at a hotel and we drove home. Got home at about 2:10 in the morning. I am so glad I did this with them and decided to head to Nashvile even though we didn't have tickets. What a blast. And never underestimate a sold out concert. You just might end up with marked down tickets at a great price. OH! These tickets I manage to snag last minute? Were the same tickets that Ticketmaster was selling online for $272 each, I didn't even pay 1/3 that amount. Less! I paid less then that for all three.
