Hello Group,

Hoping to get some advice.

Congrats to your dd on starting as well! How did she feel about her first 'real' flow? What pads has she found she likes best during that time? I commend you for letting her decide when to try tampons. What kind of dance does she do?

I don't think your dd is the odd one out in any way shape or form and hope you don't honestly think that either. Even on a board as small as ours, we have a truly diverse set of experiences with girls starting as young as 9 or as old as 15 and practically every age in between. The same is true for how quickly tampons were tried. For Amy, because her flow is so very heavy using a pad and tampon together quickly became the ideal way to keep her from living in the bathroom on her heavier days.

Kudos to you for helping Jord find her way and encouraging her to try many different pads and later tampons. Having products girls feel comfy wearing and confident about their protection makes periods far easier to handle.

Congrats to your dd on starting her first period last month! Has she decided to rely primarily on tampons at all times or just for sports and swimming at this point?

Mindy, thanks for sharing Kayleigh's experience with our newcomer and the group. How long after trying her first tampon was it before she transitioned to her current habit of using them 24/7 and just adding a pad for bed for extra protection?

Ramona, I wonder which tampons you were referring to when you said your dd prefers "the ones made for teens"?

How long did your older dd have symptoms before being dx with PMDD?

Thanks for letting everyone know how great Always Infinity pads are! They are truly unlike anything else on the market today and Amy's fave disposable pad too! Your words "They are very thin and comfortable according to them and you cannot see them thru the tiny XC outfit or softball pants" are yet another reason why these pads work well even for athletes.

With your eldest dd's first experience of tampons I understand entirely why she is in no hurry to try again any time soon. From her activity and flow standpoints does she have any reason she would really need to do so?
