As soon as Kristen gets her licence- it should get easier to get to things.

Ya, we've had that conversation about Jordyn and driving also. While I am excited at how much easier it will be once she has her license, I know that there are those concerns of accidents and stuff. She was driving on Saturday on the expressway going 55 the entire time, but then she'd go 55 on the country roads. She mentioned on the expressway she was a bit upset becuase there was a motorcycle in front of us and she gets paranoid because "you can see a person" on a motorcycle. She really needs more behind the wheel experience and I know I need to be letting her drive more, its just hard because we have to alot about 1 1/2 times more time into the schedule when she's driving...

I see about the lessons, I know its hard to do any switching around mid-year. Hopefully you'll figure some things out that will work!

Seems to me your doing alot, your not just sitting at home watching soaps or whatever. I would be upset w/dh also for not showing but he might have been really worried about work & being laid off & just plain forgot. Its maddening I know. Fill in the gaps on your resume w/volunteer work that might make it look better. Remeber that most moms have gaps in their reumes.

My dd is wanting to go to cvollege for music. What did your dd take in HS for that goal & what did she need to do music wise for that?

To deeln

I know your post wasn't directed specifically to me, but since I have a Music Ed degree, I thought I might have some insight for you.

Of course, she should be participating in her school music groups, and likely at a high enough level that she is being chosen for large area wide honors ensembles, etc.

Merrimom, thnk you so much for taking the time to write me all that information. She is studying both flute & piano w/2 of the top instructors in this state or so I've been told. Her piano teacher is a concert pianist & her flute teacher is also. Both are at the R.I. Philamonic School of Music. Her flute teacher wants her to try out for the wind ensemble orchestra. She did well at All-State missing by only 5, it will be interesting to see her score sheet when it finally comes back & see where she fell short. It was a complicated piece L'Assienne by Bizet.

URI offers a 2 week summer camp & she's intending to attend this coming summer. Her HS as of right now does offer music theory so she'll be taking that next year.

Ugh! Sorry!! We have a big calendar up in the kitchen, all the things are written on it and EVERYONE is responsible for looking at it and keeping their stuff up to date on it. It helps!! Dd has her license but we only have 2 cars and no money for a third since dh is an out of work electrician an I only work part time. Our kids are in a million things too. I understand.
