DS is 13 but is small for his age (not even 5 ft.). Yesterday we had about a foot of snow, the first snow of the season. Why couldn't we ease into it? He was right out there w/ me shoveling. DD19 came out later to shovel out her car, but she is sick w/ a cough. He really was very helpful, I didn't have to nag him, and I think he was proud that he was able to help. Really I am glad he is getting bigger. I hope that he grows (his dad is 6'1") because I am only 5'1" and I could use someone taller around the house (we are divorced).

I have to say that right now, I am suffering a lot of aches & pains, esp. my arthritic knees. I think we are getting a few more inches tomorrow. I can't wait!

It's great that he went out and pitched in!

After this weekend, I wouldn't say he loves it (I think we had over a foot) but I think he gets some satisfaction of being "the man of the house" as he said it and trying to be helpful.
