DD is attending the presidential inauguration. The guidelines for the program she is attending say that she is to wear the following: "nice slacks/skirt and a blouse, or suit/pantsuit and blouse and conservative dress shoes."
Where do we find such an outfit for a girl this age? She definitely wants the skirt option because she hates dress pants.
I don't want to break the bank and I want something she will actually want to wear again!

Wet Seal has some nice black pencil skirts and some dressy blouses.You might also find some nice skirts and blouses in H and M,or Forever 21.Macy may have some stuff too in the Missy dept as opposed to the jr dept,since the jr dept tends to carry dressier semi formal type dress,but I have seen skitrts there.You can also took in the missy dept in jc penny.Wet Seal does carry xs and 0's if that is the size you need.H and M starts at size 2.

She's about a 6 or 8 in misses and about a 7 or 9 in juniors.
Thanks so much for your suggestions. I think I'll give her a gift card to Macy's for Christmas, and we can hit the mall over Christmas break to buy her outfit. We've tried Kohl's but ours doesn't have a very good selection except for jeans and sweaters.
The good thing is that she's a size 6 or 8 (nicer brands run larger), which is pretty average, so stores have a lot in these sizes.
You know, I have never been to an H&M. I think there's one in Boston or somewhere nearby because I've heard other moms
