Welcome to our board!! I am here to testify that it isn't that awful! My little one just turned 1, my oldest is 14! They are 13 years apart. My DD is 12. I do have a 5 year old in the middle. It actually nice, because the older ones can help with the baby! congratulations on your pregnancy, a new baby is ALWAYS good news!

Hi. I am new here too!

I COMPLETELY understand what you are going through. I have a daughter (10 1/2) MAJOR TWEEN.. Son (5) Hyper Boy and I just got remarried to a 32 year old with no kids... (Really hard to find these days) He wants 2 more. First, me with 4 kids is insanity all by it's self, but by the time I get my tubes untied and I get pregnant with the first, my kiddos will probably be at least 11 and 6. I am also worried about the huge age difference and don't want anything taken away from my daughter with her being so much older, etc. It really freaks me out sometimes, but I love my husband and love kids but almost feel like I will be starting over...

My DH has three sisters 7, 9 and 10 years older than him. They just adored him growing up... they STILL adore him. He is very much their baby (he often jokes that he has 4 mothers.) They

There is 13 years between myself and the next youngest child in the family and yes, I often felt like an only child.

Challenges with an only child? I don't think so. :) We call them "perks" around here.

I grew up with a brother 6 years older and a sister 4 years older. I was in grade 8 when they left home and I loved having my parents all to myself. It was NICE being an only. :)

My ds is turning 12 next month and his sister, my dh's daughter from his first marriage, just turned 32-so yes, there's a 20 year age difference! Is it a big deal? Na. They love each other and even tease each other just like sibs will.

Remember, being close in age doesn't mean close in relationship. My ds and his sister are close, even with that 20 year age gap-which is interesting, because my sibs and I aren't.

You sound just like me! i have a 13, 11 and 2 yo DD's! My older ones are great with the baby! I wouldn't have a 4th just to give the 2 yo a closer sibling! I'm done, I'm too old, and 3 is enough! Congrats, and don't worry, I'm sure your girls will love the baby! If you have neices or nephews the baby's age, that helps. My neice is 3 months younger, so they play together.
