11 too young to vote?

Today is our municipal elections so Kristen came with me to vote. For some reason I wasn't on the list so I was getting registered. When I'm finished the lady (at least 70) turns to Kristen and in all earnestness says "And you'd like to register to vote as well? " LOL

Kristen just looked at me with this panicked confused look on her face. I said "No, she's just with me." LOL So while our incumbent mayor might be desperate for some extra votes, I'm pretty sure 11 is a too young to vote. She would vote based on what name she thinks sounds the coolest. :-)

I guess now that she's only 2 inches shorter than me she's starting to look older but I didn't think she looked "THAT" much older. LOL

Official voting age is 18. She is just happy I voted for James Dean. LOL At first she tried to tell me that it was someone with a fake name since James Dean was dead. But since he's the only guy that actually left any info at my house, he won the prize for most eager. LOL I'm not sure my method of voting is much better than Kristen's based on coolest name.

I really think older people have a hard time judging ages anymore!

Someone in Ottawa was desperate for votes. I grab the unopened envelopes on my way out the door to take my DD to school, I had not really looked at them before but there were 3 and I assumed it was DH, MIL and myself. Well it turned out to be DH, myself and DD age 9, names. DS12 was disappointed, his little sister can vote but he can't.

I did here Kristen telling her friend on the phone about the voting thing. LOL

Yes, Bob Chiarelli was still running but came in a distant 3rd. His brother Rick in the district next to mine won though. All the incumbents won.

Its weird that they would send one to your DD. I didn't even get one. LOL I wonder who makes up these lists?
