Just a little poll:

  1. What is the theme of your child's room?

  2. What color are the walls?

  3. Are there drawings, posters

What is the theme of your child's room?

What color are the walls? My girl's room is a light pink/lavender color with a faerie border at the top. My son's room is light blue on 3 walls and 1 wall is navy blue.

Are there drawings, posters or pictures on the wall? Our girl's room used to be painted mural style on all the walls of a faerie forest, but since changing it to a solid color (it was "too babyish" for them) they do have posters of unicorns and pop stars. My son keeps his yug-i-oh and harry posters up on the walls along with posters of jets.

Do the bed linens match the rest of the room? Sort of. The linens are solid color to match the color of the room.

Does the bedroom double as a playroom? Yes. They do keep their toys, computer stuff and other play junk in their own rooms.

  1. What is the theme of your child's room?
Nothing at the moment--we just moved into a brand new house so all the walls are white---we have been debating on wether to put up a boarder or to just do a cool paint job---I think we are going to go with a cool paint job---she does have a lot of bright colored flower things(hamper, rugs, clock, etc.)
  2. What color are the walls?
well I guess I answered this sort of above---I think we are going to do something with pink

  3. Are there drawings, posters

I have a 10-year-old daughter.

THEME: Dolphins

WALL COLOR: White, but want to paint them light blue. There's wainscoating halfway up, I'd leave that white.

DRAWINGS/POSTERS/PICTURES: Yes, picture of my daughter hugging a dolphin at Marine World, picture of my daughter and her kitty, dolphin calendar, Beanie Babie poster, a few miscellaneous things.

BED LINENS: Dolphin theme. They set the tone for the rest of the room, which is blue and white.

PLAYROOM: She plays in it when friends come over, but it's basically intended as her bedroom. When we're "just us two", she usually hangs out in my room or the living room.

What is the theme of your child's room? MESS.

What color are the walls? Walls? Oh, those things that hold up all the posters (Shrek, Haunted Mansion, Brother Bear, Tom Raider, etc.)

Are there drawings, posters or pictures on the wall? You can say that again.

Do the bed linens match the rest of the room? Yes, usually messy too.

Does the bedroom double as a playroom? Well, there are Magic cards everywhere, but he doesn't play in there...

LOL Sue!!!! Loved your answers!!

What is the theme of your child's room?

~~Boys (1992&2000) - Baseball and Trucks

~~Girls (1994,1998&2003) - Ladybugs, Flowers, Bees

What color are the walls?

~~Boys - Grass Green (like a baseball, soccer or football field). Thinking of making some roads in mud brown on one wall for the younger son and putting some dump trucks and a fire engine on them.

~~Girls - At the moment a sunny yellow. I'm thinking of making it a patchwork of that sunny yellow and a bold pink that exactly matches the comforters. I know I'm about to put these funky butterflies on the walls though.

Are there drawings, posters or pictures on the wall?

~~Boys - There is a poster that Christian made of a wolf and some baseball stars. They also have their patron saint icons up.

~~Girls - There is a yard sign about a Black Knigh cheerleader living here with Toree's name on it. They also have their patron saint icons up. I'm trying hard to get pictures and posters and stuff up in there but they never seem to stay up - perhaps I'll give up.

Do the bed linens match the rest of the room?

~~Boys - Well I'm working on that. They have a mismatch of sheets and that part I'm not worried about in the least. I'm sewing up a comforter set for each of the boys in their perspective themes. Christian's is Atlanta Braves themed and I'm still looking for a perfect one for Bailey - but it will be of dump trucks and other construction equipment and maybe if I'm lucky trains, fire engines, police cars and some helicopters and airplanes. They have twin over twin bunk beds.

~~Girls - They also have mismatched sheets but like I said, I ain't worried about that. They have comforter sets that match - in fact I'm making the room match the quilts/comforter sets - it's a patchwork of pink, yellow, light blue, and some light purple/lavendar with butterflies, ladybugs, flowers, bees, etc, all throughout. You've probably seen it at good ole Wal-Mart :)

Does the bedroom double as a playroom?

Yes. I have mixed feelings on that.... their rooms stayed so nice and neat without toys in there - now their rooms seem to never be clean but at the same time their rooms are never as bad as the playroom ever got. So I guess it's a good compromise. Now the playroom was suppose to turn into my sewing/craft room but it seems to have been taken over by the Game Cube and VCR - ugh!!
