I ordered a really nice colander for myself tonight. I remembered that my brother (lives in NY) colander was sort of worn out when we were there in April...so I ordered one for him for X-mas. (I try to get him a cooking thing every year because he loves to cook) So...I have officially started X-mas shopping!
I have 2 brothers. One lives in Hudson, NY & the other in Orlando, Fl. I get both of them certain things each year. For example...NY bro...I get him something for his kitchen, something Grateful Dead'ish (he's a 'Dead Head') & something with the Simpsons on it. Then my bro in Orlando...he gets a baseball thing (Last year I got him this really groovy baseball bat pepper grinder. It's about 2 ft. tall), something with Southpark on it & a tee-shirt that has one of his favorite college teams on it.

I thought Eid
I haven't even started shopping yet. I'm really trying to work on my problem of overcompensating with gifts for my boys. They have several gifts from last xmas that they didn't even open and use (games and a computer program). So this year I'm going to really try and get them each something special that they truly would like and then some small things.
I try and start early b/c Oct 29th is my nephew's b-day, Nov 5th is DH and my neice's birthday, Nov 13th is mine, ODD's best friend is Nov 28th and of course there is always a party, ODD is Nov 30th, my other neice is Dec 4th, my dad Dec 6th, sister-in-law in Dec 10th, my sister Dec 12th, our wedding anniversairy is Dec 24th and then of course Christmas!!!! Thank God for January when there are no birthdays and only 3 in February.
Oohh, thinking of celebrations tomorrow is my parent's 45th anniversairy and then Sept 21 is my mom's 63rd birthday.

Thanks,

Nope don't mind at all.
Eid is an Islamic holiday that follows Ramdan.
I wish i were more of a spiritual person, I believe you are lucky to have your faith behind you. My children have a book called The Children's Guide to World Religion and my older daughter looks at it and reads up it quite a bit. I assume she is looking to understand.
My children have been to a baptist church several times when they were younger but i didn't quite feel it was the right place for us. This is probably a silly question and don't feel you have to answer it if you don't want to but do you believe in God or a higher power? I am not sure what i believe.
You look like you have a really nice family. What are the ages of your kids? Ours are almost 13 (i can't believe it) and Kelsey will be 11 in February.
Take care,
Kelly
Nope not yet....maybe in a month or so. I do have some things I bought last Xmas for the girls I will be giving though like these cute little Coach bags (from last summer's outlet shopping).
