DYK Thread for April

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

feel free to snag one of these blinkies as well.

dyk I think its logical and at the same time not at all logical since that means the only way any child ever uses the bathroom is by missing class time

dyk I already have provided the middle school her drs letter and we will have a meeting before school begins regarding her special needs for accomodation

dyk I did tag you

dyk I hope Amy's teachers next year will be fully accommodating of her needs

dyk I have to say, I didn't really think it was right to reward kids for not using their bathroom passes when the girls should NEED to use them with good reason, and shouldn't be discouraged from good hygiene during their periods, kwim?

dyk I will try to answer your email tonight but if not, tomorrow, I'm still wading through the 82 emails I got while I was away and trying to answer the ones that need a reply, but I'm so tired I don't know how long I will actually stay awake

dyk Look forward to chatting with you soon!

dyk its going to be a whole new world

dyk its relatively simple this year since she has 1 teacher for such a long portion of each day

dyk with a new teacher constantly every class period it will be far more complex

dyk so too with going from 1 main bathroom (and 1 secondary) to oodles of bathrooms

dyk I don't think many moms think much about this as the few I have asked about on her team who are now in middle school have no clue!

dyk did they give girls at least more than the boys to start with for Kayleigh's middle school?

dyk No, girls don't get more bathroom passes than boys, everyone gets the same and I felt that was right but I didn't think a specific limit was necessarily the right thing to do

dyk when I was subbing, I certainly saw kids abusing bathroom passes and it was girls more than boys. They were spending this time at their lockers putting on lipgloss and brushing their hair

dyk No, I don't think most parents think about their middle school aged kids' bathroom use.

DYK I hate ticks.

And the cats are constantly bringing them in.

The only medicine we could give the cats that have tick and flea stuff in it, doesn't have heartworm, which means a separate medicine.

Giving medicine to a cat is as bad as giving it to a toddler :P
