DYK Thread for August
**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**
DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know
It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

That reminds me I need to email one of Jordyn's teachers with all the pertinent info for her to get 100 points right off the bat. I should go find that sheet of paper.
I'm watching the Detroit Lions preseason game from last night. I have to wait til the NFL network re-airs it since they don't show it in Texas. Pretty pathetic first 7 minutes for Detroit, not that that should surprise me. If it continues I'm just going to watch it in fast forward.
Emma is down for a nap and Madison is semi-sleeping in her bouncy seat. Once Emma gets up from her nap, I am sending her and Jordyn to the movies to see Ponyo.
DH is working, he traded on call. He was supposed to be on call next weekend, but is supposed to go to Michigan to help his brother install a new furnace in their house.
He was gone most of yesterday, has been gone all morning and last time I talked to him he had another call to go to, plus someone else was calling on his work phone and he had to hang up.
He also said it looks like he may have to be at a customers at 3 a.m. tonight to do some work.
First set of lab reports for the year graded. Overall really good (one class only)--only one F and it was the highest possible F one could get.
Gotta do another set tonight, then a set every afternoon this week so they'll all be done by Friday.
Won't see much of me this week....
Heading to library & out to eat. Then I still have to do bathrooms, put away laundry (fold what's needed), vacuum, dishes. The usual...
I need to change around my blinkies a bit, and add a new one for BFing Madison.
I can do that once I get back to work next week, i can't do much with my siggie at home with Firefox.
Only 3 days until I return to work on Thursday. I am really looking forward to going back. Someone remind me of that when I start complaining about work in a few weeks. :-)
good job with the grading! I commend all you teachers for so much work that you put in outside of class time.
dyk Kayleigh's kindy teacher wasn't anything special either
dyk I thought she was better suited to older kids, and a couple of years later, she switched to third grade, and I bet she is a great third grade teacher
dyk It sounds like for the most part, Gabby's had great teachers in middle school
dyk Kayleigh has had some that were really good, a couple of whom she has maintained friendships with
dyk She is looking forward to getting to know the high school teachers
dyk I know that one of the teachers Ian got is one who takes a very personal interest in his students
dyk A friend's dd had him a couple of years ago, and he somehow found out during a weekend that the girl had an emergency appendectomy and called the house during the weekend to speak with mom and find out how she was doing.
