DYK Thread for August

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

We took Gabby to see The Nutcracker at 3 and she was pretty good.Granted she was a little chatty, but she was just explaining the story to my mom and I.However Gabby has always talked too much! She still does.ALthough I think most of the kids in her classes are the same way.Since she is in advanced classes she has had the sme kids in most of her classes since 5th grade and that is the first thing out of the teachers mouth, they always comment on how chatty they are,but they say theya re really likable,so they put up with the chatting.

I took Jordyn to see the Nutcracker when she was about 4 or 5 I think, definitely still small. She loved it and was so good the entire time. I couldn't even imagine taking emma to anything but the circus at this point. Although she is pretty good when DH takes her to the movies. But she is always so much better behaved for him.

LOL! I can imagine. I know I make sure to thank my sitter at least once a week for having Emma each week. :-)

Alright, DH is on his way home from a side job he was doing. I am going to start getting potatoes ready for dinner. DSS asked for Salisbury Steak for dinner tonight.

but I do have to already! nip some football players' behavior in the bud...gotta get with those football coaches 'cause I had some chatty ones 7th hour Friday.

Last year, I had 1st hour as my "most football players in one class".

I let them know that *I* get along better with the coaches when I have GOOD things to report, and I don't like not getting along with anybody at any time (I know that was a double negative...but...I like to always get along with everybody...I'm the "peacemaker"..and last year I was told I need counseling because I can't make everybody get along all the time even though I try...I thought trying to make peace was a GOOD thing!). So don't make me have to say bad things about you!

I forgot how old Aly was, but it was definitely before she started Kindergarten.

There's a ballet in Baton Rouge that puts the Nutcracker in a Louisiana setting. I've been saying for 3 years now, "We're going this year", but 2 years ago, we went see Cats instead, and last year, we went to see A Christmas Carol instead....and we just can't afford too many of those shows at one time ($20-30 a person). So, this year..unless something else comes up...we plan to see it.

Of course, that something else might be Lion King in San Antonio, but I seriously don't think we'll be able to get tickets because we can't buy them when they start selling them....we have no way to determine a weekend that we can drive that won't interfere with Mike's work until we're right on it. He might be on his 4th or 5th job from now at that time since they only last a few weeks sometimes.

Gabby does not eat any green veggies.I know I will be annoyed when I pick her up at 9 tonight.SHe will tell me she is starving.I know the friends house she is at and I know this mom ALWAYS offers the kids way too much food. But when Gabby is with friends she does not have time to eat.SHe can make herself a bowl of cereal of a pb and J sand, because I will not cook at 9pm.
