DYK Thread for August

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

dyk Hey look, no more CL hat

dyk In my district, once a TA reaches a Level III certification, we are required 75 hours continuing ed every 5 years

dyk This includes workshops we take on superintendents days

dyk Our paraprofessionals (aides/monitors) aren't required any continuing ed but teaching assistants are considered part of the teaching staff

dyk I've taken some good workshops and some really boring ones!

dyk Thanks Sandy, school starts in 4 weeks so eventually I will hear something

dyk It's a big point of contention for us teaching assistants that we go so long without knowing our job assignment

dyk Supposedly everyone in my building will have a job in my building and not be transferred but I will believe that when I see it happen

dyk I hope that Kassidy makes a great transition to middle school and really enjoys it

dyk Ian is starting middle school in September, he is going into sixth grade

dyk he's not really nervous, he's seen enough of the school the past 4 years and heard enough from Kayleigh to feel like it's a familiar place

dyk Hi Ang, how is mom?

dyk I've been wondering how she is doing and checking for updates. I hope that she is healing well and the news has been as good as it can be. Any word on where her treatment goes from here? Continuing to think of you and your family!

DYK Surgery did not happen. They are waiting for more blood work and will hopefully get to do it at a later date.

Thanks to all for the prayers and positive thoughts.

Great information, thanks, esp. about the insurance. I am still undecided, but heavily leaning towards NO..if anything ever happened I would be devastated & of course would never get over the guilt.

Thanks also for the hints on my posting - I'll get the hang of it, eventually.
