DYK Thread for August

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

I don't know them all yet. :o( I'm about 80%...that's a long way to go, especially knowing half of them to start off!!!

When I changed to public school in 8th grade (worst year of my life--still..) and through 12th grade, almost everyone called me Alicia. Only my closest friends pronounced my name correctly.

DYK today was the first time dyk ever crashed my computer? It literally froze and would not do a thing!

DYK Amy is elated to now be back practicing for soccer and cannot wait for her first scrimmage, which is on Saturday.

DYK I feel like I have been extraordinarily productive today.

DYK she will have practices every Monday and Wednesday all season long now? Tonight replaced Monday since that was rained out and while it was a good idea in theory it didn't work so well as many girls were absent.

DYK she was disappointed how unfit so many of her teammates are?

Gabby is that way about dance. She can also be that way about school work when they get group projects and someone isn't following directions the way she thinks they should be followed. As for soccer Gabby qui in the forth grade when everyone started joining the travel leauge.Since Gabby is such agreat dancer she might have been good at soccer, but she hated the whole playing in the mud and rain thing and having to get dirty. Not that I evercared that she got dirty, but she did. However to be honest I'd rather watch her dance than watch her play soccer.Dale is probably the opposite, but he sees how much she loves it so he is cool with it now.

Actually, I think it's wonderful for a teacher to write a personal note in a yearbook -- my kids' teachers do all the time -- and most of the comments you listed were great and encouraging, because they focused on the type of person your DD is.
