DYK Thread for August

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

You too.I am waiting for Gabby to get ready so we can go school supply shopping.eWe are pretty much finished with clothing shopping ,except for shoes. They mailed the list with the schedule not sure I see where it is any shorter than other years. She still needs 6 1 1/2 inch binders, sheet protecters, dividers, and a flash drive. She also needs the usual pens, highlighters, paper, notebooks and such. She mentioned wanting to get a tote type bag instead of a backpack,I am fine with that because if she decides it is too impracticial she can use it for other stuff and her back packs from 6th and

DYK this was among the cheapest years supply wise for us, but far and away the most expensive clothing wise. Did Gabby also need lots of clothes? I hope the supply shopping goes smoothly!

Gabby always "needs" lots of clothing.Gabby loves clothing, fashion and dressing up.She is fine as far as jeans and tee shirts go,but she picked out a lot of dressy stuff to wear to school this year.My mom actually buys Gabby most of her clothing and her shoes. She got a lot of nice stuff when we went to the water park, since we stopped at the outlets and the mall near the water park.School supply shopping should be fine, othe than the flash drive I am just going to Staples to get most of the stuff on the list. They have the binders that last the whole year. They are $8 a piece, but they do have a buy 3 get one special.Pencils were only 19 cents at Walgreens. The flash drive should be $9 at Target.I am just glad they mailed the list,so I am not shopping after the first day of school.

We are going to finish up school shopping on Monday. We still need those plastic folders and something else, I can't remember what at the moment. I also told them we would do some clothes shopping. We probably won't do a whole lot right now, I usually wait until a couple of months into school.

Gabby needs plastic folders too.Two of which need prongs. They can be any color at least so that is easy. The thing about doing shopping at the last min is taht I really don't care about sales,it is just as easy to do one stop shopping unless it is something where prices can very a lot, like the flash drive.

Our schools are set up very strange.....we have a K-1 building, a 2-3 building, 4 is on it's own and then middle school is 5-8 and HS is 9-12. I hate the "community" schools as they call them, but we survived. Caleb is pretty nervous about going to the MS.....it's a big school from the outside, but once he sees where his classes are he'll realize he is in just a small section of the school.

DYK the other coach and I were talking last night how they aren't one big group outside of cheer, but they get along SO well. Alexis danced with two of them, so they are pretty close and some of them are buddies outside of cheer, but it isn't the norm.

It's been a good year so far. We have our first game tomorrow....fingers crossed that we do well.

That's a good response, even though I belive you meant it to be hurtful, not helpful.

I had to buy 3 1½" binders this year and I thought it got expensive fast, especially when you throw in the tab dividers, sheet protectors, etc. 6 is WAY too many to ask for. Talk about $$$$$!

I hate waiting until the last minute, but I haven't had a chance to go back out to look for the folders in the past 2 weeks. This next week is going to be very busy for us. I'm tired just thinking about it!
