DYK Thread for August

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

I used to love to go to our local pool too in the summer I always enjoyed chatting with my mom friends and Gab had a blast with her friends.

I am sure Matthew will do great in M/S although it is an adjustment, but it isn't/wasn't as bad as Gab or I thought it would be.The teachers were more personal than I thought they would be and Gabby made a lot of new friends since 3 elem schools feed into the M/S.Will Matthew be meeting new kids?

That's another thing I'm going to get my girls in a year or so--figure skating

I always wanted figure skating lessons, so I'm going to live vicariously through them, and get my twin daughters figure skating!

Matthew does not like team sports, but Justin does

He is our sports kid (Justin)

He loves any and all sports

Matthew is quiet, reserved, and into computer games, building Leggo structures, assembling and painting model cars (As of this Summer, he and Michael have done that together as a Dad Bonding Thing!), and he does like karate

He is up to his red belt, and will probably test for his black belt in the Spring

He also is an awesome, strong swimmer and LOVES the water, and took diving lessons this Summer and did really well

He can swim 50 laps in the olympic-size pool without stopping doing freestyle

So he's athletic in sort of a "different" way

Yes, there are 2 elementary schools feeding in (including ours)

Plus any Catholic elementary schools that end in 5th grade

We live in a very Catholic area

I just saw the "Let's Get to Know XXX" posts in the lower folder

I haven't participated at all

I'm usually at the pool all day, but I really need to start checking out the rest of the board, and not just the DYK, LOL!!

That seems like a fun thread

We live in a pretty Catholic area too. Most of our Catholic elem schools end after the 8th grade. There are 3 Catholic schools within 5 miles of our house.A lot of the kids in Gabby's school will actually go to a Catholic H/S in 9th grade.Ther are about 10 kids who auditioned this year to go to a school to the performing arts and that is 8-12.5 kids from Gabby's grade will go.

Thank you Sofia! I am so proud of her!

The girls will probably love horse riding lessons! I live in "horse capital USA" and have never been on a horse! I would love to someday, just havent yet!
