DYK Thread for August

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Kass wants to start taking voice/singing lessons too, and I have no idea where to start with that! I guess I need to research that one a little.

Caleb will be 11 at the end of October and our cutoff is Sept 1, so he is one of the older ones in his class.

Good luck to Matthew--and mom!

Gabby says she wants to take voice lessons too.I think she wants to because she had a blast in the school play. She loves to act and she is an awesome dancer.I guess her voice is ok.However she rarely sings around Dale of I when she was little all she did was dance.Does Kassidy have a good voice?

Our cut-off is Sept 30. Aly was the oldest girl in her K class. There were older K girls in her grade, but not in her class.

I have been soooo tired when I get home...especially on Fridays since it's duty day (an additional hour plus on my feet and in the heat).

I would be asleep already, but Mike asked me to make him some chicken. He's on a diet, so the Domino's I picked up for me & Aly (Aly had a pasta bread bowl--chicken alfredo & I had half a Philly cheesesteak sandwich) wouldn't work for him.

Our cutoff is Aug 31.There are a lot of kids in Gab's school with late Aug b'days that actually start kdg at 6 so they have a year to mature.Gabby has a March b'day and she was actually one of the youngest girls in her elementary school class. Now that she is in M/S a lot of her friends have spring b'day. However,at least 3 of her friends will turn 14 before Sept 30.

Aly had a friend with an Oct 2 birthday, so she didn't start K the same year as Aly because they lived here. Shortly after, they moved to Tennessee (dad's military) where the cut-off was later, so they let her start 1st grade when Aly started 1st grade.

So far apart now (and they don't even talk any more...I talk to her mom by e-mail very rarely and we send Christmas cards), but they have sooooo much in common anyway. They both play clarinet, among other commonalities. (Is that too big a word for our informal DYK?)

Kass has been singing for as long as she could talk, I think.
