DYK Thread for August

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Who are you to judge what is "shallow" and what is not??

My dad had cataract surgery on his left eye this morning

He needs it on his right eye too, but they only do one eye at a time (I guess in case something goes wrong)

My mom was a wreck

My sister drove them to our house once he was released (Same day surgery), so that my husband could "Keep an eye on him" (Yay!! Not!)

The hazards of being married to the only MD in the family. . .

Michael was Post-Call, having worked all night last night, so he was off today, but he was exhausted, and only had--like--2 hours sleep before my parents arrived

My mom was a nervous wreck all day with my dad, almost not even wanting him to turn his head

Physically he did great, and was in very little pain (Amazing!)

But he is sort of a complainer naturally about anything physical

So can I just say that today was PURE JOY and I am on my 2nd glass of wine??

I also feel far from sleep, and it's pretty late here!

Can everyone please say a prayer for my brothers fiance's family! Her nephew, Austin, lost his two year battle with leukemia today....he was only 13 yrs old. He was such an awesome little boy and such a fighter!

That's a good thing to know (from a parental point of view).

Did not offend.I just wasn't asking you if my post was ready to send out to important people.I also guess you can be thankful your children do not have shallow teachers like my daughter does. However I am happy with my child's teachers so that is really all that matters.

I find your writing style a little odd you claim to be giving all of us helpful advice, but your advice somehow comes across as sounding rude and judgemental.

OMG-- from the photos in your siggy you are a dead ringer for Teresa on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" -- and the tone of your posts sounds just like her too.
