DYK Thread for August

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Kristy,

I don't mean to be ugly to anybody, but we have tried reporting her posts over & over again and there's nothing being done about them. Eventually, she gets banned, so she makes a new name, but it's taking too long to get her banned.

I am a former CL (I was a CL from 1999-2003 and again 2006-2007) and in the earlier years when a poster caused havoc, they were able to find that poster's IP address (I think that's what it was) and ban it from making new names. Is that no longer the case?

I know back then, iVillage even pressed charges on a few posters.

Now, I just called her out in a lie, but I was simply replying to her to let her know that her information is not factual. I hope that none of my posts have come off as rude.

Alysha, I doubt she'll be back now

How can she?

Her dishonesty was exposed

To save face (if that were possible), she can't really post here anymore, since there's no explanation to her discrepancy in her "facts"

However, that doesn't stop her from making a new username and posting as someone else, like she's done before

I emailed Kristy as well, and I hope something is done about it

Sad that these measures have to be taken, isn't it??

We did a slumber party for Matthew last year

This year, he is just going to have 4 boys for the night, pizza, and movies in the basement

Michael is going to make the basement into a haunted house for them, LOL

That's requested by Matthew. . . Even though Halloween is a ways off!

Yes, all my kids' birthdays are within weeks of each other, and 3 of them are only 5 days apart!!

We must have been really fertile in the Winter, LOL ;)

I certainly hope it's not appendicitis. Poor baby! Hope she gets better quickly!

Almost finished recording quiz grades on paper, then need to put in computer (they're all graded).

Not bad at all on scores.

Technology update: Didn't have Internet when I got to school or at first hour. Didn't try again until 5th hour (planning period), and after a few reboots, I got it up again and it was still up at the end of the day. What tomorrow holds...who knows!!!

But technology can be REALLY great!!!! I have the students keep their composition books (for their "scientist's" science notebooks) in some bins in the back of my room. Well, for most of the classes, they need to put their books in 2 neat stacks to fit them all in. NEAT is the operable word here, and it rarely is neat. But third hour did an AWESOME job today, so I made a big deal about it with them, and again with 4th hour, who also did it very neatly. Then, on my planning period (5th), I took a picture, uploaded it to my computer, and SHOWED my 6th & 7th hour classes on my projector (without making them all get up to look at the basket which would have been a disruption).
