Back to School Bedtimes

The kids are going back to school next week and were starting back to school bedtimes (ugh!)....lol What time are your kids going to bed this year on school nights? What time are they going to bed on weekends (that is if yours has a bedtime on the weekend...lol). It seems like the summer break had just started!

Both my 13 son and 15 son are going to bed on school nights at 9--- only with moderate protest. The Middle school for my 13-year-old starts school at 7:30 am which is ridiculous IMHO, so I'll try to get my 13-year-old in bed by 8:30 if I can some nights. I have an 18-son away at college so we'll see how he handles it on his own. On weekends, if nothing is going on I prefer to have the 13 and 15 year-old's go to bed at least when hubby and I do which is 11 pm at the latest. Some weekend nights if I've had enough I'll send them to bed at 10---- although as the 15-year-old is getting more social, some Saturday nights he'll get home at his 10:00 curfew from his friends house and then off to bed shortly after. My 13-year-old isn't allowed out at all unsupervised yet after dark...

I will hope to get her settled down by 10:00. She is a real night owl and getting her to bed is a challenge, but if she stays up till midnight she can't get up the next day and even if she's dog tired she won't go to bed. She's been like that since she was born. But even if she's in bed with lights out at 10:00 I know she'll lay there for a half hour trying to fall asleep. Sigh.
So in theory, lights out at 10:00, asleep by 10:30 and up around 7:45 or 8:00 (her bus comes at 8:40). She needs a lot of sleep, most kids who could get up at 8:00 could stay up till midnight but not her.
Weekends its usually anywhere between 11:00 and midnight. Just depends. I don't start her back to bed earlier "practicing" or anything before school starts. Just the Sunday and Monday before school I'll make sure she gets up early enough to fall asleep at night.
Kayleigh is 12 and going into 7th grade.

Both my 13 and my 16 yr old go to bed by 9pm. If they want to read they can for a while. It hasn't been an issue yet, this is their first full week back to school. My oldest is a real night owl too, but since track practice began he's been heading towards the bed before 9pm! They get up at 5:45am right now and leave for school around 6:45. Bus comes at 6:40 but they're the first stop. If he gets to drive then leaving at 6:45 gets them there about 20 minutes earlier and they can socialize. Plus he missed the crowd of newly licensed drivers like himself trying to get into the school parking lot! LOL! School starts around 7:20am.

My DD is in 8th grade and is a night owl who requires less sleep than most(She is like her mama)!

I pretty much let Connor determine when he's going to bed at this point. He gets up at 5:45 am and usually puts himself to bed between 9 and 9:30 pm.
