My oldest dd will be 10 in 3 weeks, and she has decided she would like to have a sleepover party. She wants to invite 3 little girls in her class. There is a little girl in there that she has been friends with since she was 4 years old, and sometimes we carpool to cheerleading practice and she has spent the night here. She isn't wanting to invite her to this party, but she is friends with these other little girls too. To me she needs to invite her ~ their birthdays are close together and everything. DD says she fights with one of the little girls that dd is wanting to invite. I am thinking it is true because last year, dd and her were not friends with this one particular little girl, constantly seemed to "argue" with her. I talked to dd over the summer and on the first day of school and told dd to open up to this little girl, that they might have something in common and sure enough, they have become friends.... what should I do?

My first reaction upon reading your post was to suggest that prehaps it would be better if your dd was given the responsibilty of deciding
