Birthday party question again

Would you allow your turning 10 year old to have an evening birthday party on a Friday night of a cheap dinner (6-ish) and a movie (7 or 7:30 show) out with a group of friends. He hasn't been invited to many birthday parties but as far as I know, nothing like this has been done by members of his class. I'm not very friendly with many parents in his age group either so I don't really feel comfortable asking any of them. I just don't measure up to their standards and they really don't care to socialize with me. It's like high school all over again...

Alone with a group of friends? No way.
With adults along - sure.
Assuming I was ok with the adults who were going.

Yes. I assume you mean an adult would take the kids out to dinner and a movie and then home. If I knew the adult(s) and felt the child would be safe under their care and driving, then yes. My son has done this and had a blast.

If you're there chaperoning, then yes absolutely but this would be a small group, like 5-6 kids I'm thinking of.

Are you going too. Don't feel like your the outsider. I know people get very busy and have their own lives. I would not take if personally. I know you do but try, try not to.

Big hugs

Sure, as long as you are along as everyone said. I've suggested it to my DD but so far she's found other options.

Thanks for all your input everyone. We talked it over and Evan is going to have a movie party with both dh and I there and about 6-7 friends. We'll all go to a diner type place for dinner beforehand too. The party is the Friday before Thanksgiving and the kids have the next week off so it'll be a fun start to the vacation. I think he'll have a blast!! I appreciate everyone's input and I'm glad I can "talk" to a group and get a feeling for what's going on with this age group. I often tend to want ds to stay on the young side socially and it's time to let him spread his wings a little. Thanks for helping me realize it's okay to let him grow up a little.
