Is this tacky? My dd is going to a birthday party tonight and I have been really busy at work and I would like to order a couple books that arent available at the local bookstore. They are horse themed books. We have a couple nice horse toys for her to bring to the actual party, but is it tacky to give something like a voucher or something for the books which presumably will arrive within a week? Or should I just try to find another book that she can actually bring to the party.
Thanks.

Its fine to put a note in the card, kind of like a gift certificate for the books. Just put "this coupon is good for two books which will arrive next week" and then explain that they didn't come yet but they are on their way. That should be fine. Might be hard for a 2 year old to understand that concept but for older kids its fine.

I personally don't think it's tacky at all...but how old is the child?
