Makin' this quick. boiling water to throw in my omelete in a bag and dowing some coffee. Doing a super fast tidy in a minute and finish getting myself ready for work. Just dropped Ds-12 off at XC practice. Other Ds is at grandparents for a couple of days. Work until 4 today and then Ds will mow, I have WW tonight and DH has an out of town meeting in the evening. DS and I will just hang out and get ready for work tomorrow. Of course, laundry to do today. Got behind when we went into town yesterday-dentist and mall. Catch you later!
I am the most horrible mother in the world at the moment. I feel horrible at least. Jordyn's first day of school was this morning, the bus was supposed to come at 8:06, buses are always late the first day, no big deal. There were about 15 other kids at the bus stop and it was 8:00, I ask Jordyn if she wants me to stay until the bus comes or leave, she says its fine, I can leave. I leave. Its 8:30, I'm almost at work, my cell phone rings, its Jordyn, she's just on the verge of tears, the bus hasn't come yet. She said all the other kids are still there, and there are a few parents. I told her, just hang in there a little longer, I'm sure if it doesn't come there will be a few parents that will take all the kids, but call me back in 10 minutes if it hasn't come and I'll call the school. She calls back 5 minutes later, in tears, to tell me she's walking to school. WHAT! She is walking with another girl she met at the bus stop and her mom, and all the other kids have either left with their parents or are also walking. I feel horrible! I call the school, they say, yah, the buses are messed up this morning. I tell them she's walking with someone else and she'll be there shortly. Now the school is only, probably about 4 or 5 blocks from the house, but still, her first day of school, no bus, and she's late for school. Of course she tells me, I wish you had just driven me to school. I told her she is taking the bus all year long, its better she start on the first day, but I still feel horrible. Tomorrow I will stay until the bus gets there to pick her up. UGH.
So that is how my day started out. I am here at work now, I now remember I didn't get anything out for dinner tonight, Jordyn has practice right after school, so i was going to make Impossible Cheeseburger Pie, which Jordyn hates and DH and I love. Maybe I'll stop and get hamburger on the way home to make it. I left the house a mess last night, DH went to bed early since he had to be up at 4:00 a.m. for work, so Jordyn wanted me to do her nails for school and straighten her hair. I'll have to clean tonight, DH's parents get into town late tonight.
The fish turned out pretty well, it was actually called, panfried lemon fish fillet. The only thing I would do differently is add more lemon-pepper spice, and cut the fish into smaller chunks to fry up because with the big chunks you didn't get to taste much of the breading and flavor. But all in all it was pretty good. I'll get the recipe from home and add it to the recipes folders down the page.
Sorry to hear about the bad start to your day! I know I'd feel terrible, too, but once she's at school and getting involved with her classes and friends, she'll forget about this morning pretty quickly. I'm sure she'll end up having a great day at school, so don't beat yourself up over it. Hope your afternoon/evening goes much better!
Thanks, I actually just called the school again when I realized since she didn't ride the bus to school, she wouldn't know what one to ride home tonight. Apparently the bus route schedules are just being sent over, so they are going over it with all the kids at lunch today to make sure they all know what one they are supposed to take home.
