Well, so far my day is going pretty darn good which is a change. I came in to a message on my answering machine from someone who got my name from personnel and there is a possible job they want to talk to me about. It is on the political side, completely different from the trade stuff I'm doing, but its in circumpolar affairs, dealing with arctic soverignty, environmental issues, etc. It sounds really cool and so different so I left a message for the director telling him I'd love to talk to him so now I have to do some research so I know what they do over there. That is positive number 1. Then I got TWO checks. I finally got my bilingual bonus plugged in and I got back-pay from the beginning of May AND I got backpay for my step increase. The two only total $150 but hey, I'm not complaining and it means that my annual salary has gone up by just over $4000. After tax that's not much on a month to month basis but it might be enough to get me a parking space. LOL Oh, and we are all going out for Lebanese food for a coworker's last week so lets hope this is the beginning of something positive workwise.
So things are starting off great. Kristen is at her Dad's until tomorrow and I have to clean up my kitchen tonight otherwise nothing too exciting.
Hello This morning Hannah has cooking class. Yesterday they made Lasagna. She said it was soooo good. I asked her if she'd make us some and she said no, I don't cook. Geez - She has soccer practice tonight and I have a class at the gym. Oh, and today the concrete guys are going to pour our patio. Hopefully, if it doesn't rain. It looks like it might rain.
Okay, it didn't take me 3 hours to get onto ivillage this morning. Is it just me that's been having the problems all week?
Anyways, Jordyn is at practice til 1:00 this afternoon, Emma is at the sitter's and I am at work. Its pouring down rain outside, supposed to most of the day. I am going to have jordyn put a roast in the crock pot when she gets home from practice and I need to pick up a prescription tonight.
What a coicidence! I was actually at the commissary yesterday and I was eyeballing turkeys too! Who says we have to wait for an actual holiday (other than the fact that they're much cheaper then!). I hope it's great!
We just got our patio poured a couple of weeks ago...I hope you love yours as much as we love ours! It's SO nice to sit outside in the afternoons after the sun's gone to the other side of the house!
Hmmmm - have a few errands to run and need to call the vet. The dog threw up three times last night and once this morning. I'm meeting my aunt and uncle and some out of town relatives after lunch to see my aunt and uncle's new house. Went to get my hair cut and nails done yesterday and came out with highlights (which I really like - sorry Tam). Tonight dh and I are going to an outdoor jazz concert where we can go early and have dinner on the lawn (it's at Ravinia for those in the Chicago area). Sophisticated food, fresh air, nice relaxing music, and Pimm's #1 Lemonade - what a way to celebrate my birthday!
Well....drumroll please...TODAY IS MACKENZIE'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!!! The bus comes 5 minutes earlier so of course she wants to get up 15 minutes earlier...dang why should I have to get up at 5:45am so she can straighten her hair! LOL! She explained that it was scary to be the only one up so early, so I understood and set my alarm earler and got up with her.
Did I mention the skirt that was JUST AT her fingertips got washed and dried ON HOT so now it's a smidgeon shorter than her fingertips...I just shook my head and insisted she carry something else in her purse to change into if she got busted.
Hubby got stranded in Houston yesterday, spent the whole day stuck at the airport on standby and finally ended up spending the night in a hotel provided by the airline...He should be landing here as I type this. He's been gone since Sunday, so yeah...I'm ready to have him back home!
I'm off today so I'll probably just enjoy having hubby home! :P
