My mom went into the hospital with chest pain last Thursday evening. She was fine a few hours later but they said they wanted to keep her a couple of days for observation. She is still there! She feels fine, is not being monitored for anything but the doctor that needs to discharge her hasn't been around for a few days. I can understand that it was a long weekend but he wasn't in today either. She is bored silly; she has read two long books and has tv
work, off hours work related stuff like training programs, teaching classes, the kids' normal school and extra curricular stuff, Ian has 2 baseball games this week both on days where I also have trainings to go to, plus 2 doctors appointments, getting my newsletter together ... it's 4.5 weeks til summer vacation and it still seems very far in the future
But my consolation is a 4 day weekend coming up with very few plans
I think to be busy is considered a badge of honor. Ever notice the pride in someone's voice when they tell you how busy they are? We all have the power to choose how much we run around like chickens with our heads cut off. Not that I don't have times of being overwhelmed with 2 kids playing different sports and living in a rural area that requires a ton of driving.
Right now our sports are over - yippee! Also we hired some really good people at our company so I'm spending hardly any time supervising, babysitting, creating goals, checking over work, etc. They're mostly independent now. It took us a long time to get here but I'm really able to back out of the company.
The one thing I am doing is get all the paperwork and physicals lined up for my kids for their camps.

Good day all,
I have been so busy with getting things ready in my classroom.
Hehe...lets see:
Unpacking suitcases and washing piles and piles of laundry this morning
Trying to arrange a last minute camp physical for Mackenzie
Rescheduling orthodontist appts for Nick
End of school track banquet needs help and food donations
Mack's party tomorrow night still doesn't have food/decorations
I have a funky chocolate fountain to clean for the party
I have tons and tons of laundry to fold and put away this afternoon
Two dogs that need haircuts to remove all the stickers they got at my dad's house
A suburban literally PACKED with trash and funk from the road trip that needs to be mucked out
Reservations to cancel because I'm NOT going with Hubby next week for the Change of Command Ceremony for his boss back down in Dallas
Have to make flashcards to help my son cram for his rescheduled AP World History Exam he has to go back for to take on friday after school's out
Ooh..I'm getting a headache and that's just today's list...
