I found some teen's vitamins at GNC that are actually smaller in size than regualar vitamins. However because of their small size the recommended dose is THREE of them! they grumble over it but they have been easier to swallow!
I echo checking with a pharmacist. My ds has a few medications that MUST be chewed to be effective and I have some that must be taken on an empty stomach. Only a pharmacist or dr can tell you how the pill will be most effective. You've got lots of ideas here and I can't think of anything to add.
We actually have the opposite problem with my ds. He'd much rather take a pill because he doesn't like the taste of most medications but at least the last time he got his prescriptions, most medications aren't available in a pill for you swallow at a low enough dose for him. He's about 10 and a real pip squeak.
I know. I do ask and most of the time its okay. and when it is not which has only been once the dr gave us liquid. Most of the meds that my daughter gets is okay just as long as she takes both peices that were cut. I know it not to do it to all medications. Thanks for the reminder though.
Thanks for the input everyone - You guys so full of sound wisdom. :)I'm going to try having her swallow the little m&m's and go from there. I did pick up the liquid fish oil. She thinks it's blech but she has to take it.

Make sure that you check with the pharmacist before cutting pills in half.
Vitamins are a hard thing to try to swallow.
Gosh I have no clue!

Luke can and will (he hates the liquid medicines).
Thanks for the reminder though.
