A Career Poll

I am curious to know what kind of job everyone has. Do you work outside of the home? Do you work part time or full time? Do you like your job? How long have you been doing your job?

I will tell you about myself...I am a part-time RN, I usually work 2-3 evenings a week. I work with babies and sometimes older kids.
I like my job, but it can be emotionally draining...and physically draining as well. I have been a nurse for 18 years now. I like my flexible schedule. I like helping the patients and their families...but sometimes I find it stressful.

BTW: I'm not trying to start the debate of "what's better": working outside the home or being a SAHM. I know all of us work, because we have kids!! :) I am just wondering what careers we all have.

I am a home daycare provider for 18 months to 4 year olds, last year I had eight 2-4 year olds and they were so much fun. I work only during the school year, the school schedule and close one hour after the teachers get off work usually I am closed by 4:30. I am off all school holidays so I can have fun with my three kids. I am not sure how this year is going to go. I lost three 4 year olds and replaced them with two 18 month olds and one 2.5, I usually don't take anyone until they are toilet trained. I am mostly like an all day preschool. We have free play time and lots of scheduled activities, by having only one age group I can do a lot more with them. I am worried about the younger ones this fall. My "job" can be stressful but it is mostly the parents that stress me not the kids.

I thought about doing day care before, but I know i don't have the patience for it....the same reason I couldn't be a teacher.
I admire day care providers so much!
