My 7th grader is on the 7th grade cheer squad at her school.

I feel sorry for you. I dont know really what to say. Is your daughter happy with being on the squad? I would have to say that the open door policy is important. (thank you) As for the way this coach talks to the kids, I would have to wonder if she is capable of teaching. Maybe you can talk to some one higher up. School board might be able to help you. Good luck. And as a parent of a child that is going into this sort of activity, thank you for some questions that i really need to ask.

She loves cheerleading as do the other girls.

As a mom of a cheerleader involved in many different organizations, I can tell you this behavior is totally unacceptable!

As for the selection process, 10 girls tried out, 2 decided they didn't like it, and the rest made the team.

These coaches have to be safety certified in order to teach any type of "stunting".
