I've definitely started thinking about Christmas gifts. My parents ask for a list from the kids in October some time so I get a preview of what they want.

Megan: saddle (yes a real one - not happening) halter, stirrups, etc. , clothes, Ugg boots, a few books, and an iPod touch. My parents are getting her some of the clothes, the boots, and a winter jacket.

Evan: has not turned in a list as of yet but I know he wants an iPhone. Not happening bud. I refuse to pay $250 for something and then another $40 a month every month for data... He may be going to a high school program at Oxford next summer (if the scholarship comes through) so we may just give him money for expenses there. His birthday is at the end of November so I have to come up with something for that as well. He's a tough kid to buy for and he has every kind of electronic item there is. See iPhone exception above... He does like J Crew so maybe we'll get him some clothes from there.

I'm just starting to get my act together for Christmas. Pulled the card list out today. Thinking about what pictures to put on our card. Gift wrap is on its way thanks to fundraiser at Megan's school. Have gifts in mind for my grandfather, mom, and teachers already. Just need the money to pay for it...

Well, the little girls would like every thing that is in the Toys-R-Us Wish book that is pink! LOL! I am actually putting together a large trunk of dress up stuff for them and then they'll each get a few smaller gifts. Emma is getting a ukulele ("just like Jordyn") and some barbie dolls and Madison is getting a Dora guitar and I'm not sure what else, she's actually my hardest one to buy for. Depending on what my parents decide to do (see below), I may decide to get them a kids trampoline for outside, its smaller than the traditional trampoline, closer to the ground and has an enclosure on it.

Jordyn only has a few small (but very expensive) wants. Her main want is a $1000 camera (includes extra lens, SD card and case). She's saving up for it already, but its a slow go. I'm toying with the idea of giving her the cash for 1/3 of it, or if I find it on a really good sale for the Black Friday ads, I may buy it and have her pay me 1/2 of it, depending on the price. She also would like a bottle of perfume (she asked for 2 last year and got one) and other that, mostly just money for clothes.

I am still working on the list of what we are getting for her. I am waiting to see what my parents do, last year instead of shipping gifts and the expense of it, they gave me cash to decide what to buy each kid. I've already gotten Jordyn a $25 Crocs gift card (used my diaper points and got it free), a 72 set of her colored pencils, and a pair of new slippers (got for $5 from Victoria's Secret when I was ordering something else). I am also ordering her a few books of sheet music for her ukulele off of ebay. And we are ordering her class ring this week which is technically a christmas gift.

Lastly, there is SS, he's not good at getting us a list, and his mother, which she is trying to be helpful, isn't really... DH promised him an x-box when he was here this summer, so that may be the bulk of what he's getting with a game or two. We had an incident last year with gifts, and I have made it clear that I am not shopping at all in December if I don't have to. And if he arrives Dec. 17 with list in hand, unless DH goes out and does the shopping, he may be sorely disappointed. I just don't know what to get him, I don't know what he has at his mom's house. I will pick him up an itunes gift card for sure, and most likely he'll get some cash or another gift card of some sort.

Cheryl, I'm thinking Jordyn's going to need a new computer for school when she goes away, we are going to have to do the research and stuff to decide if we go with a Mac for her because of her art of not. She won't be in a dorm, so luckily I won't have to worry about that part of it. Then she can just leave her old one home and I can use that for me and the little girls... But I guess that's something I need to start planning for (among other things, big sigh also)

DD wanted a Blackberry for Christmas but has it already as we didn't want to miss the very good value payment plan. She also wants and iPod touch but it seems that it will be quite expensive if she has to download everything from iTunes. She also wants a Hollister cardigan and some inexpensive jewellery. She'd like Ugg boots but I've said no for this year so maybe she'll get a pair of Converse instead. She's requested a bigger bicycle for her birthday in February as there's not much use having one in the snow at Christmas time!

DH and I bought ourselves an iPad as an early Christmas present

Had an event this morning that sparked An idea for Megan. She's been using an older dress ere that she and my dad painted and refurbished and it's giving out. Two of the drawers stick and another doesn't close all the way. Ww've tried to repair it several times but it just can't be fixed. This morning she was trying to pull out one of the drawers and a shadow box my mom made for her fell over and broke. H ere closet is open and still has stripes of paint from when Evan was an infant. She has a Pappa San chair without a cushion and the valance is from when she was an toddler.

Long story longer, I think we're going to buy her a dresser and a cushion for Christmas and paint the closet. She'll like having a place to call her own and hang out when the rest of us start to annoy her.

That sounds nice Ami!! Jordyn always wanted one of those chairs. We had one for a while when we lived in Michigan, but since we moved to Texas, she's never had a room big enough for one. Maybe I'll talk to my brother about one for her as a "moving in" gift when she moves in up there.
