Welcome, Sherrie! This is a good opportunity to introduce yourself to our new co-cl. So, lurkers, regulars and everyone in between, please join me in welcoming Sherrie and introduce yourself. Sherrie's intro is a few threads down.

I'm Janet, mom to Sam and Rachel, who are 11-year-old twins. They will be in 6th grade next year. I'm married and we live in suburban Phila. I'm currently an unemployed software engineer. I plan on enjoying the summer off before looking for a new job in the fall. Rachel enjoys sports, and Sam enjoys TV and GameCube. They may be twins, but they are very different ;-)

Glad you're joining us, Sherrie!

Welcome Sherri and congrats (you have a great co-CL to work with!)

I was just thinking that I've come back to this bd so I should re-introduce myself. I'll take Janet's cue.

My name is Stacy. I WOH full time. DH and I live in Northeast NJ. We have 6.5yo b/g twins and a 11yo DS named Jonathan. Jonathan is basically a good kid but he does some stuff that makes me and DH crazy. Especially since he is so good we wish he'd act it more often, LOL. His biggest issue is an old time favorite; "He isn't living up to his potential in school." I also have to remind him way too often that he is Leah and Scott's big brother and NOT their dad. Hmm, maybe he just thinks he is their dictator! LOL

Thanks for "returning" and the re-introduction, Stacy! I'm glad to see you here whenever you have time. Also, I find with the new board format, that you can reply to a discussion from a few days before, and it's nice that it will pop to the top so others can see your reply and continue the discussion, if they want to respond to you. Have you gotten used to the new boards and find this useful since you're not always a "daily" poster? Do you think my sentences are long enough in this post, LOL?

We've gone from Sherri to Sherrie! Anyone confused? Unfortunately, cl_frugal.mom_of2 had to resign as co-cl. Sherri- I hope you'll still visit us! Now we're happy to have iluv_being_a_mom, who is Sherrie with an "e" as co-cl with me.

I'm just clarifying, because those who don't visit as often may just think Sherri changed her membername!

Hi Stacy,

Thanks for the warm welcome and I agree about the great co-cl. Yeesh, sounds like you and I have a lot in common with our sons. We're familiar with the brother/not parent conflict and the "not living up to potential". Sean is a good kid with limited memory and common sense -at times LOL. We're in the middle of the Yu-Gi-Oh craze, you too? Sean can quote chapter and verse on the stengths and weaknesses of his various cards (and he has well over 100) but he can't remember that I told him 5 times in the last week to make sure he replaces the toilet paper roll in the bathroom when he uses the last of it.

I look forward to comparing notes!!

Best Always,

Sherrie

Thanks again for the welcome. I'll follow your lead and expand my info as well.

I'm Sherrie; Robert and I have been married for over 19 years and live in Washington State. I WOH full-time but get off work early enough that the children don't have to be in daycare, very nice for us. Sean is 10 (11 in November) and is patiently waiting *wink* for 5th grade to start in the fall. He enjoys school well enough, but is very happy to have the summer off. He would live in front of the TV and the PS2 if allowed, just taking bathroom breaks as nature called (he would definitely want meals delivered to him LOL). Scott is 2½ and firmly enmeshed in the terrific two's. My boys adore each other, though Scott doesn't understand that Sean doesn't always want to play with him. We'll be seeing more and more of that as time goes on, I'm sure.

I look forward to getting to know everyone so much better now.

Best Always,

Sherrie

I recently found this board and I thought this may be a good time to "de-lurk".

My name is Denise and I WOH full time but am firtunate enough to ave my Mom watch my kids until DH gets home from work. I am Mom to DD10 (11 on 10/19) and DS6 (7 on 8/29). I also live in suburban Philadelphia, NE of the city. My kids are both very involved in sports and activities so that takes up my free time.

Welcome Sherrie and good luck being a CL!!!

I'm fine with the new format. There are just some strange things that I don't like; LIKE it I'm unhappy that I can't figure out how to deal w/2 bds at once. I can't open two separate outline views and that's annoying.

Anyway, there are some positives on the format.

Well, Jonathan is very much into YuGi-Oh and he is quite serious about it. The big difference btwn YuGi-Oh and Pokemon is that he started w/YuGi-Oh by playing the game and is still playing the game. I can stomach this more than just collecting the cards for the heck of collecting the cards, LOL. THe worse thing is that he's gotten his brother and sister completely obsessed with YuGi-Oh. At least he's taught them to play as well, LOL.

Hi Denise,

Glad you decided to delurk. That's great that your mom watches the children, daycare is so expensive. Working full-time and having a full schedule of extra curricular activities with the children, is there any free time left in the day ;-)?

I look forward to getting to know you!!

Best Always,

Sherrie
