So DD and i walk over to the school to see who her teacher is going to be and to see who is in her class. She has 29 kids in her class (8th grade) and at least half of them are trouble makers. Her best friend is in her class which i am not very happy about. She is a good kid but she never hands anything in on time and b/c DD and her are the "brainacs" teachers often pair the two of the together for projects etc. I do not want the two of them together for this reason and DD is often waiting for her and her mother always gets involved in their work which i don't feel is appropriate.
Should i ask for her to be moved to one of the other classes? There will be four grade 8 classes.
YDD has 24 kids in her class. She has a good mix of kids, a few trouble makers but mostly good kids. Her teacher is awesome and very enthusiastic.

DD has 29 kids in her class. There are 3 and a half grade eight classes so approximately 100 kids.
I am not sure how this has happened and i am still not sure what we are going to do.

Because you will not always have the option do so.

I knew you would say that and i believe you are right. I think we will leave her where she is. Thanks for helping me think this through.

It can be really hard as a parent to let go and let our kids try to make their way through less than ideal situations when there may be a less difficult
