So today I did a random inspection of backpacks...today might have been the wrong day. 2 out of 3 offspring had backpacks from HADES! I was LIVID!

I haven't checked Kurt's because I don't have a hazmat suit. lol

I probably should. When he was in grade 5 I found a whole bunch of ziploc baggies of rotting carrots. he couldn't even throw his veggies away like most kids. Ewwww!

I've never looked in either of my kids backpacks to be honest....never wanted to know if there was disgusting stuff in there I guess.

I was starting to feel like the mom from Mommie Dearest (NO WIRE HANGERS..lol). It seems as though we are in the minority Adrianne because most of the moms don't check. I bet my kids wish I wouldn't check. hahahaha

we are on our third binder. she breaks them all the time. and they have to be able to have pockets and zip up and this and that. They are expensive.

I'm sorry, but that's really funny! And yes, I have been there. And no, I don't go near those backpacks. Ick! But I do ask each day if they have papers for me to sign. They lose points for not handing stuff in, so most of the time, they remember.

Your post reminds me of the time I had to help my son clean out his locker at the end of 1st grade (his elementary school was once a jr high). At the bottom,

I don't clean out Nik's backpack she always keeps that pretty neat. I do look to see how she has packed her books because I keep telling her she needs to put the biggest/heaviest closest to her back so the bag doesn't pull down too much. if she kept her room as neat as her locker & backpack I would be one very happy mom.

No trapper keep type binders are to be used according to the school instructions ;-) so the binders are usually old ones from DH or my office cuz they also need to be 2" or larger
