Did anyone miss me?

Cause I sure missed you guys. Over here in Missouri I've been without power since Friday @ 9 pm thanks to a major ice storm. We had to go to a motel to stay. Our power just came back on today, man it is good to be home. We came home yesterday to check on everything and it was 40 in the house. The outside temp got down to 6 last night.
In our area there was about 75,000 without power. They are saying that this was the worst ice storm since 1987 in this area. There are still people without power and will not get it until next week.
Anyway I'm going to be in & out as I have to get the house back in order and laundry done, I spent half the day scrubbing the fridge and throwing away spoiled food.

Oh my goodness. A colleague is from Missouri (she moved here in 2005). Her mom is TRYING to get on a plane to be here for her grandbaby's surgery tomorrow. And she sent us a slide show from MSNBC.

Thanks Tam. I feels so good to be home now. I was starting to have withdrawals from here. LOL
I'm starting a list of the things we used most for the next time. And I have 2 propane heaters coming that I ordered so that will help if it happens again.
Thanks for posting the pictures. If you look at the ones from Springfield that is where we are. In picture #14 that is across the street from DH's work & we were there on Saturday. It is weird seeing them on the internet when I have been living it since Friday. I feel like we were cut off from the outside world.

Glad to hear ur back at home sweet home & trying to get things back to normal. We had an ice storm a while back when Rach was a baby & the subway didn't even run (they use electric rails & they froze) so I remember giving up on going to work & picking Rach back up from her sitter & then going to MILs for the night.
Good to hear from ya & that things are looking up!
